Alshon Jeffery is officially out for the Philadelphia Eagles’ season opener this week against their NFC East rivals the Washington Football Team. It’s his foot. He had surgery on it during the offseason, and there was some optimism that he might be ready to play when the season started. That hope has since been dashed. Now, Jeffery might not play until October as he continues to rehab.
Fantasy football analysis, Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery
We’ve know since the end of August that Jeffery wasn’t going to play this week. Though it’s still up in the air as to when he might be able to return... and how long he’ll be able to stay on the field when he does come back. Jeffery’s career with the Eagles has been marred by injury; he’s played just one full season for the team since landing there in 2017.
Without Jeffery the Eagles are making some adjustments to their wide receiver lineup. DeSean Jackson moves into the No. 1 spot, though his fantasy contributions could be limited by rookie Jalen Reagor. A first-round pick who projects as a downfield threat, Reagor had been dealing with an injury himself, but he’s since been cleared to play.
