The 17th overall pick in the NFL Draft this year, CeeDee Lamb is that rare wide receiver capable of putting up big numbers even as a rookie. But what about this week when the Cowboys open the season against the Rams? Is Lamb still worth a spot in your fantasy lineup?
Fantasy Football analysis: Dallas Cowboys, WR, CeeDee Lamb
Lamb starts the season in the third spot on the Dallas Cowboys depth chart, but don’t let that fool you, he’s going to get plenty of playing time. He’ll be a regular presence in the team’s three-receiver sets, and head coach Mike McCarthy has already made it clear that he plans to use the rookie both in the slot and on the outside. During camp, the team was also using him in sweeps and reverses, a pretty good sign that they’re going to find ways to get him on the field.
This week Dallas has to deal with a Rams secondary headlined by Jalen Ramsey. Fortunately, Ramsey is just one guy, and he’s likely going to be seeing a lot more of Amari Cooper (who was a nonfactor when these two teams played last season) than anyone else. It’s been made pretty clear by the people covering the Cowboys that Lamb is going to get lots of playing time this week, even Jerry Jones said so. That makes him a good bet for a WR2 or Flex spot in your lineup.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start CeeDee Lamb.
