DeVante Parker wasn’t the only pleasant surprise on among Miami Dolphins wide receivers last year. Preston Williams, an undrafted rookie from Colorado State, earned a starting job out of training camp and went on to roll up 428 yards and three touchdowns through eight games. However, a torn ACL ended his season early, but with a glimpse at what he’s capable of, Williams brought high expectations into this season. The question this week is whether or not he’ll be at full speed for a tough matchup against the Patriots.
Fantasy Football analysis: Miami Dolphins, WR, Preston Williams
Williams has been limited in practice this week, along with Parker. But both players are expected to suit up against New England this week. Nevertheless, you should probably temper your expectations. It can take players some time after they return from a torn ACL to get back to where they were. As recently as early August, there were still questions of whether or not Williams would be ready to play for the start of the season.
He is ready to play, and he’ll be a tempting target for fantasy because Parker is expected to have to deal with Patriots corner Stephon Gilmore. Still, it’s best to leave Williams on the bench this week with a difficult opponent and lingering questions about how effective he’ll be.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Preston Williams.
