We didn’t get any eye-popping performances from any wideouts in Thursdays’s season opener, but there will be a lot more options in Sunday’s 12-game main slate on DraftKings. Heavy hitters like Michael Thomas , Julio Jones, and Davante Adams will be popular DF plays this weekend, but you can find quality from non superstars as well. We’ll go over the top wide receivers under $5,000 on DraftKings here.
DeSean Jackson ($4,900), Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Football Team
Jackson torched Washington in last year’s season opener with nine receptions for 154 yards, two scores, and 38.4 DKFP. He missed most of 2019 with a sports hernia but appears to be back at 100 percent now. Even though it appears like Jalen Reagor will play in Week 1 after suffering a shoulder injury, Jackson can be a serviceable deep threat. Alshon Jeffery’s foot injury should make Jackson a priority in the passing game.
Bryan Edwards ($4,200), Las Vegas Raiders vs. Carolina Panthers
I’m jumping right on the Bryan Edwards hype train. A knee injury was listed on Friday’s injury report, but is still set to be the Raiders’ starting X receiver. There was speculation that he would’ve won the starting job from Tyrell Williams even if he hadn’t torn his labrum. If you pay up at most positions and need boom-or-bust option, Edwards is your man.
Robby Anderson ($4,700), Carolina Panthers vs. Las Vegas Raiders
It’s no secret that Anderson is one of the speedier wideouts in the NFL, and the Panthers have plenty of pace on the outside. While D.J. Moore is the top option, Curtis Samuel has been underwhelming. That means Anderson could rise up the depth chart, and he torched the Raiders with four receptions for 86 yards and a score. Las Vegas had the 31st ranked pass defense in 2019, according to Football Outsiders. Its secondary was supposed to be bolstered by 2020 first-round pick Damon Arnette, but he’s listed as questionable for Sunday’s game with thumb and groin injuries. Carolina’s speed could be dangerous against lackluster defensive backs.
