The novel coronavirus has again impacted the sports world.
This time, the fight between Brok Weaver and Frank Camacho was altered as the latter tested positive for Covid-19. Jalin Turner will step in after losing his opportunity to fight earlier this month. This fight will take place at a 165-pound catchweight, five short of the normal 170 limit at welterweight.
The 6-foot-3, 25-year-old Turner is 9-5 in his UFC career. With eight knockouts, Turner packs a nasty punch, rarely getting his fights finish with a decision. This will be a huge fight for Turner as he’s 2-2 in his last four.
As for Brok Weaver, he’ll enter as the underdog, but he is the more experienced fighter so that could bode well for the 28-year-old. Weaver is 15-5 in his career, and the bulk of his fights have finished in decisions.
Prior to dropping a fight versus Roosevelt Roberts, Weaver had won eight-straight fights. The southpaw-style fighter has the experience and expertise to at least make this fight go the distance.
Here are the betting odds at various sports books for Jalin Turner vs. Brok Weaver at UFC Fight Night on September 12th.
