Two veteran lightweights will hit the octagon on Saturday for UFC Las Vegas 10.
They’ll be fighting before the main card. The bout was in jeopardy as Rodrigo Vargas withdrew from the event for undisclosed reasons. Neither of the two fighters crack the top 15 in their weightclass.
That hasn’t stopped the 34-year-old Bobby “King” Green from racking up two victories this year. He’s been terrific, beating both his last two opponents by unanimous decisions. Green has 26 wins to his name, losing 10 times. He also has one tie.
Green’s wins are spread out with nine coming from submission, nine from decision and eight from knockout. An Orthodox-style fighter, Green lands an insane 5.2 strikes per round. He’s likely going to be the aggressor in this bout.
As for Alan Patrick, he’s also an older fighter, entering the octagon at 37 years old. He does have a 15-2 record, nine of those 15 coming via submission. Patrick is a Southpaw that typically lives on the ground, averaging just under 4 takedowns per fight.
This should be an entertaining preliminary bout.
