Will LeBron & AD outscore Harden & Russ in Game 4?

We take a look at an odds boost on DraftKings Sportsbook, plus look at some other player props for Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers will look to go up 3-1 in their second-round series against the Houston Rockets on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Rockets are expected to be without Danuel House Jr. again with an ongoing investigation by the NBA. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were dominant in Game 3, while James Harden and Russell Westbrook couldn’t carry Houston to tie the series. Let’s take a look at some player props and an odds boost on DraftKings Sportsbook to consider.

Odds Boost: LeBron & AD to outscore Harden & Russ (-121)

I love this player prop and boost for Game 4. If we got back to Game 3, the Rockets duo won this prop by 1 point. I don’t anticipate Westbrook reaching 30 points again and the odds of him going off like this seem low anyway. So with that in mind, it just feels pretty safe for LeBron and AD to outscore Harden and Russ. The Lakers seem to be ganging steam and Houston’s defense left much to be desired in Game 3. The combined props add up to LeBron & AD at 58 points and Harden and Russ at 55 points, so the books are giving the Lakers pair a 3.0 advantage.

Robert Covington to outscore Kyle Kuzma (+100)

So we know that House is likely going to be out for Game 4. That should open up some additional looks for Covington and he’s been streaky enough in the postseason. RoCo has a very big minutes advantage over Kuzma — about 10-12 per game. The added time on the floor plus these odds make me feel confident in this bet. The Rockets were successful enough in Round 1 with Covington taking almost 3.0 more shot attempts per game. He shot nearly 50% on those attempts vs. OKC and is shooting 55.6% from downtown so far against the Lakers. Houston needs to get RoCo more looks tonight.

Robert Covington OVER 2.5 3-pointers made (+100)

We might as well double-down with the same odds for Covington to nail 3 treys in Game 4. Again, he isn’t take as many shots but with House out again, that could change. He’s been arguably the Rockets’ best 3-point shooter in the postseason. Houston needs to find some more offense from players not named Harden or Westbrook. Getting RoCo more looks would go a long way. LeBron guarding Covington is the reason we get this juice but this is essentially the season on the line. So I expect the Rockets to show up and make things competitive.
