Game update: Mecole Hardman has been targeted once in the game, catching one pass for six yards halfway through the fourth quarter.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Houston Texans in their season opener on Thursday, and injuries could make second-year wideout Mecole Hardman a major part of their offense. He thrived as a return specialist in his rookie year and nearly a quarter of his receptions were converted for touchdowns. Is there room for him to be a significant contributor in 2020? We’ll go over that below.
Fantasy Football Analysis: Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman
Tyreek Hill is Kansas City’s top wideout and appears to have bounced back from the hamstring injury that limited him in camp. Sammy Watkins is clear of the groin injury he suffered at camp as well, so it should be hard for Hardman to get targets with that duo, Travis Kelce, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire competing for touches. Hardman would be much more valuable if Watkins moved on from the Chiefs over the offseason.
Start/Sit Recommendation
I’d stay away from Hardman is season-long fantasy leagues, but he could be worth a flier in larger GPPs because of his special teams activity and big-play ability.
