Donovan Mitchell available to play Saturday vs. Nuggets [UPDATE]

Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert and Royce O’Neale will all be back in the lineup as well.

UPDATE: Aug. 8, 2:57 p.m. Mitchell and O’Neale are both available to play vs. Denver. Mitchell looks like a good pivot in DFS on DraftKings given the ownership going toward Luka Doncic and Paul George.

UPDATE: Aug. 8, 2:30 p.m. — So we’ve got a few updates for the Jazz. Mudiay has been ruled out due to a knee injury. Mitchell is still questionable and Juwan Morgan has also been ruled out.

The Utah Jazz effectively rested their entire starting lineup outside of Joe Ingles on Friday vs. the San Antonio Spurs. Now, it appears most of the lineup will be back in their Saturday against the Denver Nuggets. Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley are off the report, while Donovan Mitchell is questionable and Royce O’Neale is probable.

With all four sidelined Friday, the Jazz didn’t put up much of a fight. We saw plenty of bench guys in bigger roles and turned out to be solid value. All of that will go back to normal this afternoon. So no Tony Bradley, no Georges Niang, no Jarrell Brantley, no Juwan Moran, no Rayjon Tucker. Who are these guys??? Some of them may get some minutes — Bradley and Niang — but the other will probably be banished to the end of the bench again. Let’s go over it in DFS.

Fantasy basketball and betting impact

So with Gobert and O’Neale likely back, we can get off Niang. Bradley ($3,500) isn’t a bad option if he can get around 15 minutes given his rebounding. Emmanuel Mudiay ($3,300) may still have some value if Mitchell remains out. Jordan Clarkson ($5,200) would get the biggest boost again if Spida sits, though Clarkson’s price makes him more of a cash-game pivot. Gobert ($7,500), Conley ($5,900) and O’Neale ($4,900) are all pretty cheap on DraftKings considering they should go back to normal minutes.

This game is intriguing because of the injury news. The Nuggets are favored by 1.5 points and the Jazz could have a mostly healthy rotation. It seems more even to me, so whichever team is getting points should get the edge here. The player props are down on DKSB, so monitor that or look for another book that might have lines on Clarkson’s point total. Even Conley’s in the event Mitchell sits again.
