The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers will play Saturday at 9:10 p.m. ET. Righty Johnny Cueto will take on lefty Clayton Kershaw in Dodger Stadium. DraftKings will have Showdown DFS contests available for the matchup. We break down the ideal lineup strategy below, and you can play here.
Captain’s Picks
Corey Seager, SS, Dodgers: $13,200
Johnny Cueto is the pitcher to target here, as Clayton Kershaw pitched well in his last outing and seems to be on track to be Kershaw-like in his home stadium. Cueto has been below average this season, giving up 14 hits and seven earned runs in 12.2 innings through three starts. Seager has hit Cueto well through 36 at bats, with 13 hits, including three doubles and two home runs. He also hits righties well, with a .458 wOBA 1.076 OPS and .294 ISOso far this season.
Clayton Kershaw, P, Dodgers: $18,000
Kershaw is probably too expensive for the Captain’s slot when you have so many strong hitters to pay up for, but he’s also the safest play for cash games. In Kershaw’s first start he pitched well in Arizona, where he’s often had trouble. He pitched into the sixth inning without allowing a run and struck out six. Back at home against an average hitting Giants team, he should be a safe play.
Utility Picks
Edwin Rios, 1B/3B, Dodgers: $4,000
If we go with Kershaw in the Captain’s slot, we’ll need some value and the lefty Rios hits righties well. If he gets the start, you can bank on good at bats, as he has a .441 wOBA and .431 ISO against right-handers over his last 60 plate appearances and two homers in 11 at bats this season.
Mauricio Dubon, 2B/OF, Giants: $6,200
Dubon has only 43 plate appearances against lefties in his career, but he’s hit them well with a .372 wOBA and .262 ISO with three home runs. One of those homers came against Kershaw.
