The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets close out our Wednesday slate with another Showdown contest on DraftKings. The Nets are coming off their improbably win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. The Celtics fell to the Miami Heat. Here are some DraftKings Showdown picks to consider.
Captain’s Picks
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot ($9,000)
This is a little dependent on the Nets ruling Joe Harris and Caris LeVert out again. If that’s the case, give me more of TLC. He led the team in scoring in their win over the Bucks with 26 points. Luwawu-Cabarrot is a great 3-point shooter and the Celtics really haven’t been the same type of defensive team in the bubble. I’d say even if there’s just no Harris, TLC is an OK leverage Captain’s pick.
Fade of the Game
Marcus Smart ($8,400)
Part of me wanted to Captain Smart with Kemba Walker expected to rest in this game. Then I remembered all those times Smart chucked up 3-pointers non-stop and didn’t make any of them. Now, there are times Smart drains those shots pretty consistently. Even so, the price in this contest is adjusted for Walker being out and Smart start, so there’s really not much of an edge. I think Smart’s ownership will be high and his ceiling doesn’t equate.
Value Picks
Enes Kanter ($4,000) — Kanter has strung together a few solid games off the bench in limited time for the Celtics, who lack size down low. Luckily, so do the Nets. So even with Jarrett Allen returning, it isn’t like he’s some defensive stalwart. Kanter should have favorable matchups off the bench against G-League talent on Brooklyn.
Dzanan Musa ($1,000) — We should see the Nets get a few guys back in the rotation Wednesday. Even if that’s the case, Musa played well in 19 minutes vs. the Bucks and could see 12-15 minutes in this game. If the Celtics show up and take care of Brooklyn, Musa could also get some garbage-time run.
