There are six games on the NBA schedule in the bubble pretty much every day, so Wednesday is no different. There’s a Showdown contest on DraftKings for each game, but in this installment, we’ll be looking at the Oklahoma City vs. Los Angeles Lakers matchup. Here are some Showdown picks to get your lineup going.
Captain’s Picks
Anthony Davis ($17,400)
The Lakers locked up the No. 1 seed in the West, so there’s a chance we get some news that players will rest. If that isn’t the case, AD has been unstoppable in the bubble. The Thunder don’t really have much depth in the front court behind Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel. If Danilo Gallinari plays a little bit at PF, that’s a spot Davis should dominate again. Something tells me this also could be a LeBron night.
Fade of the Game
Kyle Kuzma ($6,400)
At some point, Kuzma is going to have to step up and provide some scoring off the bench. This could be the game if the Lakers rest some players. If not, I think the price is a bit too high. There really isn’t much value at all once you get below the $7K range in this contest. I’d probably employ a Stars and Scrubs approach with my lineup.
Value Picks
Luguentz Dort ($2,400) — For some reason, Dort’s price won’t go up. He’s played a total of 66 minutes over two games starting for the Thunder and Dennis Schroder is expected to be out again. I realize Dort isn’t the more attractive fantasy option, but north of 30 minutes for somebody priced up $3K is too good to pass up in Showdown. Stars and Scrubs it up.
Darius Bazley ($1,400) — Really all the value in this contest is coming from OKC. I think we’ll maybe get some news that the Lakers will rest somebody, so we can adjust accordingly to the news. If not, Bazley is like Dort; he’s going to play 20+ minutes and is dirt cheap. It won’t take much for either player to return big value.
