Best lineup strategy for Suns vs. Clippers Showdown

We break down Tuesday’s featured Showdown contest between Phoenix and Los Angeles on DraftKings.

We’ve got six games in the NBA as is tradition in the Orlando bubble for Tuesday’s slate. Of the six showdown contests, the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers looks enticing enough. Let’s take a look at some picks on DraftKings to get you going.

Captain’s Pick

Paul George ($14,100)

If you’ve watched PG-13 at all in the bubble, you know he’s on a mission. That mission is to win you money in DK Showdown, clearly. He’s the third-highest priced player in this contest, which is a bit odd. I’d at least peg him above Devin Booker ($15,900). So we can save a bit of salary and get a player with a similar ceiling to Booker and Kawhi Leonard ($17,100).

Fade of the Game

Cameron Johnson ($6,200)

Johnson may appear like the sharp play but this won’t be an easy time for him against the Clippers. Chances are Johnson will see a lot of PG and Kawhi on defense. The rookie has been solid the first two games for Phoenix, but his price is a result of those games. I think we’ve reached a point where Johnson is losing value fast.

Value Picks

Jevon Carter ($3,200) — This is another biased pick for me as a West Virginia University alum. Carter has been getting big minutes as the backup PG behind Ricky Rubio. So we can expect around 20-25 minutes for Carter in a tougher matchup. He should rise to the occasion and his defense is an added bonus with multi-steal upside.

Frank Kaminsky ($1,200) — We’re going to go super low in this section. Kaminsky stands out as a big man who can stretch the floor a bit and is very underpriced. He has only played a combined 20 minutes in the first two games but has 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. If Kaminsky gets a little bit more playing time we can project him for at least around 8-10x value based on his salary.
