The NFL’s 2020 season is approaching rapidly, and the public has continued to place bets on the next Super Bowl champion. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead all teams in handle and percentage of total bets, and we’ll go over some of the other more popular bets here.

The Buccaneers have the fifth best odds on DraftKings Sportsbook at +1400 but command 23 percent of the handle and 17 percent of the total bets. Bettors are still backing the potentially lethal additions of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to a team that boasted the best wide receiver duo in the NFL in 2019.

It’s not surprising that many people think the Kansas City Chiefs (+600) could win a second straight Super Bowl, as they have the best odds to win it all ahead of the 2020 season. The defending champions own 11 percent of the handle and 11 percent of the total bets after returning all its most important offensive weapons. The Chiefs actually might even improve with the addition of versatile rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The Baltimore Ravens (+650) have the third best odds to win the title but fell short of expectations after posting the best record (14-2) in the NFL last season. They’ve added a quality rookie running back in J.K. Dobbins to the most potent rushing attack in the league. Bettors think Lamar Jackson — the reigning MVP — have a good chance to find success in 2020 though. Baltimore ranks third with 8 percent of the handle on championship bets and 8 percent of the total bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (+2500) stand out as the public’s favorite long shot. While they only finished 8-8 last season and had one of the least productive offenses in the league in 2019, Ben Roethlisberger is expected to raise their ceiling with his return from a season-ending elbow injury. Pittsburgh is even with the Indianapolis Colts (+2200) and Philadelphia Eagles (+1800) in handle percentage (4) and command 3 percent of the total bets.
