Two UFC veterans in search of some traction do battle in what the bookmakers have as a pretty equal fight when Alessio Di Chirico faces Zak Cummings live from UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ this Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The Rome, Italy native Di Chirico is the younger of the two, entering with a 12-4 record in MMA and a 3-4 mark in the UFC. With losses to Kevin Holland and Makhmud Muradov in his only two fights of 2019, “Manzo” could certainly use a win here to keep his UFC status as part of the roster. With nine stoppages (five KO/TKO, four submissions) in his 12 career wins, but only one in the UFC, he lands 3.20 strikes per minute and 1.95 takedowns per 15-minute fight.
Cummings is the type of veteran the UFC craves: An exciting style willing to get in the octagon with anyone. With an 8-4 career record in the promotion and at 23-7 overall, Cummings has 12 submission wins and five knockouts on his resume. The 36-year-old from Springfield, Missouri needs to keep winning to earn a shot at the Top 15 rankings anytime soon. He lands just 2.47 strikes per minute, and 0.75 takedowns, but those numbers belie his activity as he has five finishes in his eight UFC wins.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Alessio Di Chirico vs. Zak Cummings at UFC Fight Night on August 29th.
