UPDATE, Thursday 2:24 p.m.: WNBA players are refusing to play on Thursday in a continued protest. The league has not yet announced plans to postpone any games.

The WNBA announced Wednesday evening it is postponing its three nationally televised games for the night. The decision came after players expressed discomfort playing in the aftermath of the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin and the ensuing protests that have resulted.
The initial plan was for teams to stop games every seven minutes to signify protest while still playing. However, some players were uncomfortable with the idea and it eventually led to a full schedule shutdown.
The league has not announced new game dates or its plans for Thursday’s schedule. The postponed games include Washington Mystics-Atlanta Dream, Los Angeles Sparks-Minnesota Lynx, and Connecticut Sun-Phoenix Mercury.
