Best lineup strategy for Magic vs. Bucks Game 5 NBA Showdown

We go over the top Showdown strategy for Saturday’s first-round matchup between Orlando and Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Bucks look to close out their first-round series with the Orlando Magic up 3-1 heading into Wednesday’s contest. The Bucks somehow dropped the first game of the series but have since been dominant with three straight double-digit victories. There’s no reason to believe that won’t continue in Game 5 on Saturday. Let’s take a look at some DraftKings Showdown picks to help you build your lineup for the contest that locks at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Set your DraftKings lineup here.

Captain’s Pick

Khris Middleton ($14,700)

After struggling the first few games, we’ve got at least a few solid fantasy outings from Middleton. He’s 7-for-14 from 3-point range the past two games and has come close to hitting 40 DKFP in each of those contests. The shooting is coming around, which leads me to believe a breakout game is coming. This could be the blowout in which Middleton drops 30+ points. His rebounding and assist numbers have been good, we just need to the scoring to come around.

Fade of the Game

Evan Fournier ($6,800)

Fournier finally put up 30+ fantasy points in Game 4 but his shooting continues to be worse than Middleton’s. Fournier is 9-of-28 from long range in the series and is shooting well below 40% from the field. Fournier needed a surprisingly strong rebounding game in order to hit value. If the shooting slump continues, Fournier will most likely bust again in a close out game that nobody expects to be close.

Value Picks

Gary Clark ($4,600) — I don’t see a reason to get off of Clark now. His price is back where we want it to be and he’s still starting in place of Aaron Gordon and seeing plenty of minutes. Clark hasn’t been shy launching 3-pointers, hitting 4-of-8 in Game 4. If the rebounding numbers improve back to what we’re used to seeing, a few 3-pointers land, Clark can pretty easily hit value at lowish ownership.

Pat Connaughton ($3,400) — If this game plays out like I think it will — not close — then someone like Connaughton should see a ton of garbage time. He’s played 20+ minutes in every game of the series. Most of these games have been blowouts. We saw the type of ceiling Connaughton has in Game 2, when he went for 40+ DKFP. That may have been a fluke but it happened. Connaughton can shoot and is a decent rebounder.
