The Milwaukee Bucks righted the ship with a convincing win in Game 2 vs. the Orlando Magic. The Bucks looked like the team we saw during the regular season for what seems like the first time since March. The main issue is getting Khris Middleton on track before the second round, and a tougher opponent rolls around. Let’s take a look at some DraftKings Showdown picks for Saturday’s contest. Captain’s Pick
Nikola Vucevic ($15,900)
This is probably the game Vuce slows down. We haven’t had any indication of that happening, though. The Magic won in Game 1 because Vucevic went nuts. They lost in Game 2 and Vucevic still went nuts. At this point, he’s the entire Magic offense. Aaron Gordon coming back would maybe get me off of Vuce at Captain. There aren’t many ways to craft a lineup in this Showdown. One of the most appealing is Capain Vucevic and use Giannis Antetokounmpo in the FLEX to save some salary.
Fade of the Game
Markelle Fultz ($6,000)
At this point, we know what we’re going to get out of Fultz. Maybe he cracks 30 fantasy points. Most of the time he’s only going to get around 25. So why has his price spiked up to $6K from $5,400? How the hell should I know. Fultz doesn’t have much of a ceiling and if Michael Carter-Williams and Aaron Gordon remain out, there are better options cheaper than Fultz.
Value Picks
Pat Connaughton ($4,800) — Connaughton’s massive 40.75 DKFP from Game 2 was probably an anomaly. A fluke, if you will. The thing is, I can totally see the Bucks blowing out the Magic again in Game 3. So Connaughton seems like a safe bet for around 20-25 minutes. He isn’t going to shoot the lights out again — 5-of-8 from 3-point range. Even so, Connaughton had 11 rebounds in Game 2 and chipped in 3 assists and 2 blocks. At this price, we don’t need Connaughton to score 40 DKFP again. We’re perfectly fine with 25-30.
Gary Clark ($3,400) — I’m perfectly fine rolling out Clark for the rest of the series if he’s going to start and play 25-30 minutes per game. Clark has taken 17 long-distance shots in two games for Orlando. He’s going to get opportunities for open looks. That type of volume for somebody priced this low? It’s like a free space for this Showdown. Clark also has 13 boards over two games and hasn’t gotten into foul trouble yet.
