How to watch Avalanche vs. Stars second round playoff series

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are chugging along! Following round robin and qualifying round play, the first round of the playoffs is rapidly coming to a close. The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars both advanced and are set to square off in the second round conference semifinals. The first round is a wrap and the Avalanche and Stars will open their series on Saturday, August 22nd.

The Avs and Stars faced off in the round robin portion of the postseason. Colorado won 4-0, with Pavel Francouz stopping 27 shots and Andre Burakovsky and Joonas Donskoi each grabbing a goal and an assist.

The Avalanche advanced to the second round with a 4-1 series win over the Arizona Coyotes. Nathan MacKinnon and Nazem Kadri have combined for 24 points through the first round and round robin play, ranking 1st and 4th in total points. Colorado has also gotten stellar goalie play from Philipp Grubauer and Pavel Francouz.

The Stars advanced with a 4-2 series win over the Calgary Flames, winning three straight games after falling behind 2-1. Miro Heiskanen has led the way in the postseason, tied for second in the league with 12 points.

DraftKings Sportsbook unveiled series odds and has installed Colorado as -215 favorites and Dallas as +175 underdogs. The total games played is slightly favored to go over 5.5 games, at -155. The top two favorites for outcome are Avs win 4-1 and Avs win 4-2.
