The Boston Celtics head into Game 3 up 2-0 on the Philadelphia 76ers in their best-of-7 series in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics have been dominant in the series so far — with or without Gordon Hayward, currently out with a bad ankle sprain. Captain’s Pick
Jayson Tatum ($15,600)
More like Jayson Tat-yum, amirite??? Anyone seen ‘This Is The End’ out there? Come on, people! Tatum has been the only reason to watch this series so far. He’s been fantastic on both ends and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to let the Sixers get a game. Tatum. has posted back-to-back 50+ DKFP outings in the series and was unconscious from outside in Game 2, banging 8 treys en route to 33 points. Nobody on Philly can guard him. He should probably be priced at above $16K in the Captain’s spot by now.
Fade of the Game
Tobias Harris ($9,400)
Part of me thinks that the Sixers will respond in this game. The other part is expecting the Celtics to just crush their souls. Harris has struggled shooting the ball and it’s because the Celtics have great individual defenders. Harris’ price is up because there’s no Ben Simmons, but that hasn’t really translated to more production. Maybe if Harris were cheaper, there’d be more of an argument to play him. If you think the Sixers can respond, go nuts. I’d look to stack the Celtics or focus on Joel Embiid.
Value Picks
Alec Burks ($5,200) — So at this point, Brett Brown is probably going to lose his job. Hopefully it isn’t because he refused to play Burks due to entry passes being bad in Game 3. The Sixers need Burks for offense. Plain and simple. It can’t just be Harris forcing shots and Embiid getting doubled in the post. My thinking is Brown plays Burks more in Game 3 and he shows why he should have played more in Game 2.
Grant Williams ($2,000) — Williams got most of his playing time because Boston was up huge in Game 2. This could be the case again. If it’s not, Williams played well enough to warrant some run with Hayward out. He may be chalky, but that’s fine at $2K, we just need him to return value.
