The Utah Jazz evened the first-round series with the Denver Nuggets will a convincing win in Game 2 on Wednesday. The Jazz should only build on that performance by gaining some reinforcements in the form of Mike Conley. The Jazz PG is probable to return after leaving the NBA bubble due to the birth of his son. With Conley back, the Jazz lineup becomes more interesting. Let’s take a look at some Showdown picks on DraftKings for Game 3. Set your DraftKings lineup here.
Captain’s Pick
Michael Porter Jr. ($12,300)
So let me get this straight. Porter was more expensive last game when he scored 28 points for the Nuggets in Game 2. His price went down after the rookie shook off the jitters and performed in the playoffs. Right. I’m fine captaining MPJ to get off of the chalk of Nikola Jokic and Donovan Mitchell at Captain. We know Porter’s ceiling is upwards of 50-60 fantasy points. This price at Captain gives us a more balanced lineup approach.
Fade of the Game
Joe Ingles ($7,000)
Assuming Conley is back and isn’t on a minutes restriction, Ingles gets the biggest downgrade. Conley should go back to being the primary ball-handler in the starting lineup. With Conley out, it was mostly Ingles and Mitchell picking up the slack. Fewer assists for Ingles hurts his value, which really isn’t great at this price anyway. It is a little eye-opening that Ingles’ price is down $1,600 from last game, though. Hmmmm.
Value Picks
Monte Morris ($4,800) — There isn’t a ton of cheap value for Nuggets-Jazz. I think a lot of players in this price range will get chalky outside of Morris, who should continue to see minutes at backup PG with Gary Harris out. Morris has 25-30-point upside and we can get some leverage from the field with this pick.
Tony Bradley ($2,800) — Bradley is an excellent rebounder. He hasn’t played much in this series so far but he’s nearly at a rebound per minute, which is nuts. It’s actually 16 boards in 22 total minutes over two games. With cheap, cheap value at a premium, Bradley isn’t a bad option for “Stars and Scrubs” lineups.
