The 2020 NBA Draft Lottery took place on Thursday night and we now have the order for the top 14 teams in the 2020 NBA Draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves were rewarded with the No. 1 overall pick after winning the lottery at 14% odds.
The 2020 NBA Draft is currently scheduled to take place October 16, three months later than normal due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Free agency is currently scheduled to start two days later, on October 18, but the players’ union has warned its members to expect a delay given the uncertainty around projecting next year’s league revenues, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi. There has been talk the 2020-2021 season will start on December 1st, but the union is skeptical of that too happening on time.
While the season and free agency might be delayed, it would appear the draft is on track for October 16th. Now that we know the order for the first 14 picks in the draft, it makes sense to fire up the latest 2020 NBA Mock Draft!

Why Timberwolves should select Toppin at No. 1 overall
There’s no clear cut top pick in this year’s draft, but the top three prospects on most draft boards are Ball, Edwards, and Wiseman. Minnesota traded for a franchise point guard in D’Angelo Russell and has an All-NBA caliber center in Karl-Anthony Towns though, so a developed player might be the best fit for the Timberwolves. The Warriors seem likely to trade back for an established player that can contribute to a championship team immediately while the Hornets need a franchise centerpiece like Ball.
