UPDATE: Aug. 20, 5:31 p.m. Porzingis is being listed as probable for Friday’s Game 3 vs. the Clippers, per the injury report from Thursday evening. Porzingis was questionable heading into Game 2, but ended up starting and looked fine. He finished with 23 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes in the starting lineup.

UPDATE: Aug. 19, 2:58 p.m. Porzingis has been upgraded to probable for Game 2, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

So it looks like Porzingis is fine and should be a full go for tonight’s game. If that’s the case, we should be able to get low ownership on Porzingis given this type of status. A lot of lineups were likely crafted early in the day and in high-pop GPPs, users may not pivot onto him. Considering the hole and the ejection from Game 1, I’d expect Porzingis to be motivated. If he isn’t on a minutes limit, I’d say fire away in GPPs.

UPDATE: Aug. 19, 12:58 p.m. Porzingis is dealing with knee irritation but is hopeful to play in Game 2 vs. the Clippers on Wednesday, per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Dallas Mavericks PF Kristaps Porzingis is being listed as questionable to play in Game 2 vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. This is tough news for the Mavericks, who probably felt like Game 1 was stolen from them. Porzingis was tossed after two soft technical fouls in a loss to the Clippers. In a 1-0 hole in the series — and already working as underdogs — Dallas cannot afford to lose Porzingis for Game 2.

If Porzingis is held out of Game 2, we should see more of Maxi Kleber at PF and C. Dorian Finney-Smith should also see more playing time in smaller lineups. Boban Marjanovic got some extended run in Game 1 but isn’t really a viable option for more than say 12-15 minutes in the playoffs. This also puts a lot more pressure on Luka Doncic to carry the team in a series that is already looking like it could be over quickly after that tough break in Game 1.
