The 2020 NBA Playoffs get started on Monday, August 17th. While we should see most lineups at full strength, there will always be notable injuries to cover from game-to-game in each series. Here you’ll be able to find all the latest injury news and updates, plus DFS and betting analysis, for the Utah Jazz as they take on the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
Utah Jazz injury updates
Ed Davis — Knee (Out)
Mike Conley — Personal (Will Play)
Update, Aug. 21 — Conley is expected to clear quarantine and be able to play in Game 3 vs. the Nuggets on Friday, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley Jr., is clearing quarantine soon and will be in lineup for Game 3 against Denver today, sources tell ESPN. Conley returned to Orlando on Monday night after attending the birth of his son, Elijah.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) August 21, 2020
With Conley back in the lineup — if he starts — we should see a downgrade for Joe Ingles and Jordan Clarkson. Ingles won’t be tasked with handling the ball and distributing as much. Clarkson will still have his normal role as 6th man off the bench, so he’s a little more viable. It’s unclear if Conley will be in the starting lineup or have any type of minutes limit coming back.
Update, Aug. 16 — Conley announced that he is leaving the bubble in Orlando for the birth of his son on Sunday. As a result, Conley should miss at least the first couple games of the first round vs. the Nuggets. Davis was ruled out for a few weeks due to a knee injury, so he probably won’t play against the Nuggets as well.
