Lakers injury update: LeBron James, AD will start Game 3 vs. Blazers

We’ve keeping an eye on all the injury news for the Lakers during the 2020 NBA Playoffs.

The 2020 NBA Playoffs get started on Monday, August 17th. While we should see most lineups at full strength, there will always be notable injuries to cover from game-to-game in each series. Here you’ll be able to find all the latest injury news and updates, plus DFS and betting analysis, for the Los Angeles Lakers as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the playoffs.

Los Angeles Lakers injury updates

Rajon Rondo — back (Out)
LeBron James — groin (Will Start)
Anthony Davis — knee (Will Start)

Update, Aug. 22 — Rondo has been scratched from the lineup and will not play in Game 3 vs. the Blazers due to back spasms.

Update, Aug. 22 — LeBron and AD are both starting as expected in Game 3 vs. Blazers on Saturday night. Rondo is available to make his playoff debut for the Lakers as well.

Update, Aug. 21 — LeBron is being listed as probable for Game 3 vs. the Blazers on Saturday. AD is also probable. Neither is expected to be held out or have a restriction in Game 3.

Update, Aug. 17 James and Davis are both probable on the injury report for Monday evening. Both are expected to play and we shouldn’t think much of their statuses a day prior to Game 1 vs. the Trail Blazers.

Update, Aug. 16Rondo is looking to return some time in early September. Rondo returned to the NBA bubble after undergoing surgery and is currently in quarantine. He could return during the Lakers playoff run.
