Sean O’Malley is one of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster. But in his bout with Marlon Vera at UFC 252 on Saturday night, is he worth the DFS roster price?
DraftKings DFS Salaries
Sean O’Malley: $9,200
Marlon Vera: $7,000
O’Malley enters as a -286 favorite on the money line, with Vera the underdog at +225.
“The Sugar Show” has almost won too quickly in his last two fights, with a pair of first-round KO’s only averaging 103.5 DFS points per outing. His two prior fights, both decisions wins where he was dragged to deeper water, didn’t fare much better with a 93 point average.
Vera will be the best fight O’Malley has faced, and he also has the ability to make this a longer outing. Despite being undefeated at 12-0, the tax of paying almost $1,000 over an average fighter might be too much here, and taking someone that’s as big a dog to lose as Vera isn’t a terrific idea even if he can score in a loss.
There are better places to put your DFS dollars on the card, but if you think O’Malley is ready to put on the show again, he’d be the sharper side to play in this one.
