The line to see the “Sugar Show” will be a long one as Sean O’Malley makes his debut as a featured fighter in the co-main event of UFC 252 against Marlon Vera at bantamweight this Saturday in Las Vegas.
O’Malley has overwhelmed opponents, with a 12-0 record and 4-0 mark in the UFC. He joined the roster after a legendary fight at Dana White’s Contender Series in July of 2017. His last two wins have been by first round knockout where he’s caught opponents clean from the standup and looked like an overwhelming force. Ranked #14 in the division, he’ll look for his third knockout of calendar year 2020 on Saturday.
Vera is 15-6-1 overall, 9-5 record in the UFC. The Ecudorian will want to put the fight on the mat, as he has eight career submission victories and five knockouts on his resume. “Chito” averages 3.70 strikes per minute and just 0.88 takedowns, winning won five in a row before being upset by Song Yadong in a unanimous decision in May.
