The 2020 NBA Playoffs begin on Monday, August 17th after the seeding round wrapped up the regular season with each team playing eight games in the bubble in Orlando. We started with 22 teams and now we’re down to the 16 teams that will compete for the 2020 NBA Championship. The first round of the playoffs kicks off with best-of-7 series in both the Western Conference and Eastern Conference.
The No. 4 seed Miami Heat and No. 5 seed Indiana Pacers will face each other in an Eastern Conference first-round series in the NBA bubble in Orlando. The Heat and Pacers faced each other twice to wrap up the regular season with the Heat taking both games before the playoffs. We’ll get at least four more games between Jimmy Butler and T.J. Warren before the season is finished, possibly even more.
Miami enters with the 8th-best odds to win it all at +2500 while Indiana is +10000 to take home the title. The Heat are +850 to come out of the east, while the Pacers are +6000.
In terms of injuries heading into the series, the Pacers are a little thin. Domantas Sabonis and Jeremy Lamb never made it to the bubble. Victor Oladipo, Malcolm Brogdon and Myles Turner have all dealt with injuries inside the bubble as well. The Heat have had nagging injuries in the restart but should enter this series at full-strength.
Below is a run down of the Heat-Pacers series and how to watch it.
