Damian Lillard said he didn’t want to take part in the NBA restart if the Portland Trail Blazers didn’t have a chance to make the postseason , and he’s been able to will his team into the playoff picture.
Lillard has taken “Dame time” to another level in the bubble. He is averaging 37 points per game over the course of his last seven games and rattled off two straight 50-point games to help Portland claim the eighth seed from the Memphis Grizzlies. Lillard is the favorite (-335) to be named the seeding games MVP on DraftKings Sportsbook, and few players will be able to compete with him.
Devin Booker (+300) has the second best odds and is the only player who can really challenge Lillard at this point. The Phoenix Suns entered Thursday as the only undefeated team in the bubble at 7-0 and were considered a long shot. Despite losing Kelly Oubre Jr. to injury, the Suns have been able to play winning basketball behind their star. Booker is averaging 31 points per game in the bubble while also rebounding and assisting at a high rate. His team could climb from 13th in the Western Conference to ninth with an 8-0 record.
T.J. Warren’s put up an astonishing 53 points in his seeding game debut as the Indiana Pacers took down the Philadelphia 76ers. He was the bubble’s scoring champ until he flopped against the Miami Heat. He has the third best odds at +1100, but sitting out against the Houston Rockets earlier this week. He hasn’t bee nearly as consistent as Lillard or Booker.
