The NASCAR Xfinity Series has a road race set for this weekend. The UNOH 188 will begin Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET, and air on NBCSN. We’ll go over the betting favorites and how the starting grid will be determined below.

The starting grid has been determined by random draws that take team owner points into account since the restart, but last week NASCAR announced that qualifying will work differently in the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, Gander Outdoors Truck) moving forward. Here’s a breakdown of the new system.

Three performance metrics will be utilized, with each one weighted a little different. It breaks down as follows.

  • Finishing position from the previous race (weighted 50%)
  • Ranking in team owner points standings (35%)
  • Fastest lap from the previous race (15%)

Austin Cindric is the hottest driver in the series right now and has won four of his last five races. He claimed the pole is favored at +130 on DraftKings Sportsbook and is trailed by A.J. Allmendinger (+275) and Chase Briscoe (+550). Cindric will be the pole sitter in this one and has a good chance to secure another victory in this road race.

Here’s what the rest of the field looks like for Saturday’s Xfinity Series race.
