The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series’ next race will be the be the Sunoco 159 on Sunday at Daytona International Speedway’s road course. The race will be aired at 12:00 p.m. ET on FS1. We’ll go over the the betting favorites and how the starting order will be determined below.

The starting grid has been determined by random draws that take team owner points into account since the restart, but last week NASCAR announced that qualifying will work differently in the three national series (Cup, Xfinity, Gander Outdoors Truck) moving forward. Here’s a breakdown of the new system.

Three performance metrics will be utilized, with each one weighted a little different. It breaks down as follows.

  • Finishing position from the previous race (weighted 50%)
  • Ranking in team owner points standings (35%)
  • Fastest lap from the previous race (15%)

The Sunoco 159 will be a road race, and Brett Moffitt (+200) is the favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. He won his last road race at the Chevrolet Silverado 250 last year and will start third on the grid, behind pole sitter Zane Smith and Christian Eckes. Alex Tagliani (+400) has the second best odds but hasn’t been active in this year’s Truck Series. He finished second to Moffitt in last year’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 though. Points leader Austin Hill rounds at the top three at +750.

Here’s what the rest of the field looks like for Sunday’s Truck Series race.
