UPDATE: Fight day odds and betting splits for Dos Santos-Rozenstruik
The other heavyweight bout at UFC 252 on the main card isn’t for the title, but pairs a former division champion against an up-and-comer off his first loss when Junior dos Santos takes on Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 252 this Saturday night in Las Vegas live on pay-per-view via ESPN+.
Dos Santos is 21-7, 15-6 in the UFC, and is the former heavyweight champion. Ranked #5 in the division, the heavy-handed Brazilian has 15 knockouts and a submission on his resume. He averages 4.66 significant strikes per minute in the octagon, but has dropped his last two fights to #2 Francis Ngannou and #3 Curtis Blaydes. At 36 years of age and at 6’4, he should have a slight reach advantage over his opponent.
Rozenstruik is 10-1, falling for the first time in his last outing against Ngannou in May at UFC 249, the first pay-per-view in a post-Covid world. “Bigi Boy” is from Suriname, and his KO win over legend Alistair Overeem with just four seconds remaining in the fight propelled him to this position. He’s a standup fighter as well, averaging 3.84 strikes per minute, and has yet to even attempt a takedown in five UFC fights.
Here are the betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for Junior Dos Santos vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 252 on August 15th:
