There will be a Western Conference matchup between the Portland Trail Blazers and Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Dallas rested Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis in its last game, but the two stars will be refreshed for and ready to take on a Trail Blazers team still looking to punch a ticket to the playoffs. We’ll go over the best Showdown DFS picks for DraftKings contests surrounding the game below.
Captain’s picks
Portland has a leg up on the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs in the race for the eighth seed, but there still needs to be a sense of urgency. That being said, expect Damian Lillard ($16,500) as many minutes as it takes for his team to win and advance. He’s coming off a 51-point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers and will be looking to follow that up with another big game after blowing his chance to beat the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in the week.
Luka Doncic ($18,000) is a walking triple-double and Portland has one of the worst defensive backcourts in the NBA. Lillard, CJ McCollum, and probably won’t have much success guarding him. If he gets his normal workload, he should dominate this game.
FLEX options
Gary Trent Jr. ($6,200) had a subpar outing in his las game but has been a lock to play more than 30 minutes per game despite coming off the bench. He’s averaging just under five made threes per game, and I don’t see that changing soon when he’s been shooting such a high percentage and playing defense at a high level.
Dorian Finney-Smith ($5,600) has cracked 40 minutes in two of his last three games and recorded a double-double in two of those three games. He’s steadily been growing into the third most consistent fantasy option on the Mavericks behind Doncic and Porzingis.
