UPDATE: Fight day odds and betting splits for Miocic-Cormier

It’s one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history, and it might determine who can lay claim to being the best heavyweight in mixed martial arts history. And it’s this Saturday night when UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic takes on Daniel Cormier for the third and likely final time live from the UFC Apex center in Las Vegas.

Miocic is the reigning champ and is 19-3 in his MMA career. His only loss since 2015 is to Cormier, who beat him via first round knockout in July of 2018 to take the championship he had defended three times. He avenged the loss and reclaimed his title in August 2019 via a flurry of punches in the fourth round, which brings both men back for the final fight of the trilogy this Saturday.

An outstanding combatant on his feet or the mat, Miocic averages 4.95 strikes per minute in the octagon as well as 2.20 takedowns per 15 minutes during his 16 UFC fights, where the 37-year-old has a promotion record of 13-3.

Cormier is 41 and this might be his final fight in MMA. The former All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State has accomplished everything in the sport, and looks to ride out on top with the championship. He enters with a 22-2-1 record and an 11-2-1 mark in the UFC. Having held the belts at both light heavyweight and heavyweight, nine of his last 10 fights have been for a championship.

“DC” is one of the great grapplers and standup fighters in UFC history, averaging 4.25 strikes per minute and 1.95 takedowns per fight, he has 15 stoppages in his 22 career wins. The only losses of his career are to Jon Jones at light heavyweight, and to Miocic last year at heavyweight.
