Odds and picks for August 1st in the WNBA

It’s a west coast battle in The Wubble today as the Sparks and Storm face off.

Three more games in the WNBA today, including the only undefeated team left in the league, the Washington Mystics. They’re 3-0 and winning by an average of 16 points per game, despite not having league MVP Elena Delle Donne in Bradenton. They’re the biggest surprise in the W so far, and take on Courtney Vandersloot and the 2-1 Sky later today.

Also today the Seattle Storm look to get back on track after an 89-71 loss to the Mystics on Thursday. Breanna Stewart has still been outstanding in her return campaign after sitting out 2019 with an Achilles tear, averaging 17 points and 9.3 rebounds per game so far this season.

Here are the odds and spreads for tonight’s WNBA action, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

4 p.m.: Minnesota Lynx vs. Connecticut Sun -4: Total 155*
6 p.m.: Washington Mystics -4.5 vs. Chicago Sky: Total 178
8 p.m.: Los Angeles Sparks vs. Seattle Storm -5.5: Total 163

* From various sportsbooks as DraftKings is unable to offer betting on Connecticut Sun games due to their partnership with Mohegan Gaming, which owns the team.

The pick: Washington Mystics -4.5

It’s time to believe in the 3-0 champs. Sure they’re roster was theoretically decimated before the season, but they’re still dominating the league like Elena Delle Donne and Kristi Toliver were still there. When you blow the favorite Seattle Storm off the floor 89-71, whatever you’re doing is working. And the Sky just don’t have the horses to keep up with Aerial Powers and Myisha Hines-Allen right now. Ride the Mystics train until it comes off the tracks, and that might be awhile.
