The Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders will face off in a Madden sim Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play at DraftKings before kickoff.

Captain’s Picks

The top two options in this game are both Falcons in my opinion, and it’s a toss up between Matt Ryan ($17,100) and Julio Jones ($15,300). Both members of the dynamic duo should be able to have a dominant aerial attack against the Raiders’ poor pass defense. I’d give the edge to Ryan because of how many different weapons he has to expose the opposition.

Those will be two of the pricier options, but Derek Carr ($15,900) should also receive some consideration. Atlanta’s defensive backs are far from elite, and Carr’s short and intermediate accuracy is above average.

Flex Men

Darren Waller ($7,400) is the most lethal pass catcher the Raiders have to offer and has consistently been their top performer aside from Carr. He plays all over the field and racks up more targets than any other player on his team.

The Raiders have a below average linebacker group and defensive line as well, so Devonta Freeman ($9,600) is almost a must play in the flex. He’s among the leaders in touchdowns and receptions at the running back position. He has top-notch PPR upside and can run between the tackles effectively.
