The NBA is inching closer to a return at the end of July. The 22 teams participating in the restart of the 2019-20 season have made their way to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Training Camps for each team will run from July 9 through July 29 with scrimmages right up to the season reopening on July 30. With the Los Angeles Clippers beginning training camp, we’ll be tracking all the latest news and injuries here.
Los Angeles Clippers Training Camp news updates
July 20 — Pat Bev leaves bubble to attend to personal matter
Clippers PG Patrick Beverley has left the NBA bubble in Orlando to attend to a personal matter, ESPN’s Malika Andrews reported late Tuesday night. Beverley is expected to rejoin the Clippers before the restart of the season next week. Montrezl Harrell has also left the bubble due to a family emergency. Both will need to quarantine before returning to play.
July 17 — Montrezl Harrell leaving bubble for family emergency
Harrell left the bubble Friday to deal with an emergency family matter, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. While the forward will have to quarantine when he returns, his excused departure will only require him to be isolated for four days instead of 10 should he test negative for Covid-19 following his return.
July 4 — Landry Shamet tests positive for Covid-19
Shamet is unlikely to travel with the Clippers to the bubble in Orlando. It’s a bit of a blow for the Clippers, who will certainly miss Shamet’s 3-point shooting and ability to stretch the floor. The Clippers are still well positioned to contend for a title.
