The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills will face off in a Madden sim Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest that will be played in the snow. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.

Captain’s Pick

Miles Sanders ($11,100)

We generally want to stay away from QBs so this game being played in the snow is great for that. It also means the running games will be popular and Sanders is among one of the top RBs in sim land. He’s got a ceiling that reaches up to around 35-40 points and he isn’t going to be held back by another RB in the Philly backfield. Sanders is an overall strong Captain but will likely have high ownership.

Fade of the Game

Quarterbacks

I’ll reiterate for anyone who skipped over the Captain’s pick — oh all of you did? Okay, well in that case, QBs aren’t great plays in Madden sim land and this snow game should scare us off even more. Whenever snow is involved, the QBs have the tendency to put the ball on the ground. Josh Allen is a little safer given his ability to run. Carson Wentz not so much.

Value Picks

Nelson Agholor ($5,400) — Agholor lands in the value picks again because there aren’t a ton of great WR options in this contest. Alshon Jeffery and John Brown are the two top wideouts, though we do have a top TE in Zach Ertz. Still, value will be tough to come by, so Agholor gives us a decent upside WR play.

Dallas Goedert ($2,400) — I like using Goedert as a salary-saver in these Showdowns. He’s not going to produce a ton of points, but like I said above, there aren’t a ton of great options for this snow game. If that’s the case, a stars and scrubs approach isn’t a bad idea. We can fit in some top studs and then work Goedert in to save salary.
