Rocket Mortgage Classic DFS Showdown picks for Round 2 at Detroit Golf Club

We’ve onto the second round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club. We are yet again seeing another easy course with plenty of low scores through Round 1. We are also seeing that course history — albeit not a huge sample size — is proving wise for Doc Redman owners. Let’s take a look at DraftKings Showdown picks for Round 2.

Tyrrell Hatton ($10,000)

Of all the high-priced options on Thursday, Hatton seemed the most comfortable. Bryson DeChambeau looked human for once and Webb Simpson ran into some issues. Hatton had a bit of a layoff after skipping last week’s Travelers. Before that? A win at the API and a third-place finish at RBC Heritage. Hatton is capable of making a move up the leaderboard and is at a reasonable price here.

Rickie Fowler ($9,000)

Is Rickie Back!?! We sure hope so. After a few missed cuts, Fowler looks to be back to making putts. Outside of a bad double bogey in Round 1, Fowler almost had a clean card for Thursday. He’s sitting at 5-under and is another name we know can win on Tour. A lot of people were doubting Fowler heading into this weekend and he’s proving most of them wrong so far. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if Fowler is back, at this price we get a solid play for Day 2.

Doc Redman ($8,400)

A lot of people — myself included — were skeptical of the Redman chalk heading into Rocket Mortgage. He finished second at DGC last year and is coming off a T11 at Travelers. Redman is just striking the ball really well and when he’s doing that, it makes the rest of him get look easy. As long as Redman keeps this up, we have to ride him into the weekend.

Scott Stallings ($7,400)

This is a similar pick to Redman. Stallings is coming off a top 10 finish at Travelers, where he had 18 birdies and just three bogeys throughout the tournament. This is shaping up to be another birdie-fest and Stallings had eight of those in Round 1. We talked a lot about this course being one of the easier designs on Tour. The tougher roughs aren’t slowing down Stallings, so as long as he keeps hitting fairways, we can expect more birdies.
