Odds and picks for July 29th in the WNBA

It’s Game 2 for six WNBA teams tonight, and here we’ll take a look at the matchups which start with the Phoenix Mercury and the Indiana Fever at 7:00 p.m. ET.

PHX struggled in their opener on Saturday against LA, but the Fever were even worse in the following game against the champion Mystics. Sabrina Ionescu leads the New York Liberty against the Dallas Wings, and the Atlanta Dream welcome former teammate Angel McCoughtry for the first time as a visitor when they face the Las Vegas Aces.

The pick: Phoenix vs. Indiana OVER 160

Phoenix looked like they needed an extra basketball against Los Angeles. Too many superstars (Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi specifically) spent a lot of time watching Skylar Diggins-Smith dribble on the wing. That likely gets fixed, as there’s just too much talent here to be that inefficient for too long.

Also Indiana might be terrible defensively, but they can probably score at a better clip than the 76 points on a 92.5 offensive rating they had against the defending champion Mystics on Saturday. Both teams can fill it up, and the scoring in the Wubble so far has been amazing (league average of 89 ppg per team). We’ll just root for the points here.
