WNBA DFS lineup advice for Sunday, July 26th

It’s Day 2 of the WNBA return tomorrow, and six more teams take to the court in The Wubble at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. It’s our first look at six teams, including last year’s finalists the Connecticut Sun taking on the new-look Minnesota Lynx to open things at 12 p.m. ET.

The middle game has the Chicago Sky take on Bill Laimbeer’s Las Vegas Aces, and in the nightcap, two rebuilding franchises get on the floor when the Dallas Wings take on the Atlanta Dream.

We take a look at the lineups and see what’s available, and make some picks to help fill out your DFS roster.

Guard: Kayla McBride ($7,700)

So someone has to play in the backcourt for the Las Vegas Aces, and McBride might be all that’s left. They cut Alex Bentley this week, Kelsey Plum is out for the season with an Achilles injury, so the options for Bill Laimbeer are going to be extremely limited. The three-time All-Star averaged 13.3 points per game last season, and should have the green light to get DFS points.

Forward: Angel McCoughtry ($5,000)

Not really sure why a player that’s averaged 19.1 points per game in her Hall of Fame career is only $5,000?? Yes she only played one game last season, but that was due to injury and by all indications she’s back and to play. And for a short-handed team, she’ll have plenty of time to get buckets. This is simply a misprice that is looking at 2019 stats and not an outstanding career from a two-time gold medalist.

Flex: Arike Ogunbowale ($11,500)

Take that salary cap you saved above, and spend it on the Notre Dame star that will have the Dallas Wings to herself this season. The former national champion at Notre Dame posted 19.1 points per game in her rookie campaign last year, but now her efficiency should improve as well as her opportunities with a young team around her. It should be a breakout season for Ogunbowale, and the Atlanta Dream are likely to be atrocious defensively this season.
