The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will face off in a Madden sim Thursday at 10 p.m. ET. We break down the ideal Showdown lineup strategy for the DFS contest. You can set your lineup and play in the DraftKings contest before kickoff.
Captain’s Picks
Tevin Coleman, 49ers ($14,100)
Coleman has been solid throughout this simulated season, including in Week 2 when he went off for 110 yards and two touchdowns against the Chiefs in Kansas City. That was year’s ago, but he’s remained a high upside play due to his receiving and rushing usage. The Chiefs are poor against the run and receiving running backs, so I’m all in this time around.
FLEX Men
Sammy Watkins, Chiefs ($6,200)
I prefer to use Watkins on the road, where he has 15 touchdowns to eight at home. He’s also too cheap for his upside. He is inconsistent, but in his last three road games he’s tallied 16, 23 and 18 DK points, which is great for his price. If I were to go cheaper and riskier in the Captain’s spot, he’d be my pick.
Demarcus Robinson, Chiefs ($5,200)
Patrick Mahomes has been playing quite well of late, as he’s topped 31 DK points in four of his last five games. That’s been good for his receivers, including Robinson, who has been consistent of late. He’s topped 12 DK points in five of his last six games and has some good upside with 34.8 and 25.5 games in his last eight matchups.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($11,400)
Like I mentioned in the Robinson blurb, Mahomes has been on fire. Maybe that new contract set a fire under him. Playing the 49ers on the road isn’t the easiest matchup, but he’s pout up good numbers in tough games before. He also hasn’t dipped below 17 DK points in his last 12 matchups.
