This is particularly worrisome considering Bagley injured his foot earlier in the season before the coronavirus caused things to halt. Bagley was a question mark to play immediately upon the restart of the season. Now, it looks like the foot sprain may have been re-aggravated. If that’s the case, the Kings could be down a key piece in the front court. Sacramento has had issues with players testing positive for Covid-19, though most of them have been cleared to return.
The Kings are dealing with a ton of injuries right now. De’Aaron Fox re-injured his ankle that held him out of a few games early in the season. Harrison Barnes, Richaun Holmes and Alex Len are all quarantined due to Covid-19 positive tests or in Holmes’ case, leaving the bubble to get takeout. Barnes, Len and Holmes should be fine for the season restart, but no one knows for sure.
The Kings open up the restart against the San Antonio Spurs on July 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Right now, Sacramento is favored by 2.5 points and is -136 on the moneyline. The Spurs have a ton of injuries, but this game could move closer to a toss up now that Bagley could be sidelined. We also weren’t expecting Bagley to be 100% ready for this game, so it’s maybe something we shouldn’t overreact to.
