The San Jose Earthquakes and Vancouver Whitecaps will face off in an MLS is Back Tournament matchup Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET. San Jose is looking score its first goal of the postseason after tying the Seattle Sounders 0-0 in its first match. Vancouver, on the other hand, has yet to play its first playoff match. DraftKings has DFS contests for the game, and we go over some ideal Showdown strategies below. Set your lineups here.

Captain’s Picks

Hwang In-Beom ($11,700) can contribute in a lot of different ways. The 23-year-old midfielder scored three goals in his first season with Vancouver last year was also tied for the lead the team with five assists. He’s averaging double-digits in DKFP despite not having a goal or assist this year and has a solid floor thanks to his crossing. He also gets after it on the defensive end by winning tackles and using his instincts to anticipate passes.

Cristian Espinoza ($16,200) and Magnus Eriksson ($15,900) are the top captain’s candidates for San Jose. Both are versatile enough to score and assist, but I’d give Eriksson an edge because of his scoring prowess. Both are sure to create chances for themselves and others.

Flex

Ali Adnan ($7,200) likes to get forward and contribute to the offense. His five assists match In-Beom’s mark. He hasn’t registered a shot yet this season, but has one assist on the year and has assisted three shots.

Chris Wondolowski ($10,200) was limited in his team’s last match and only played 15 minutes, but he was San Jose’s top goal scorer last year. He had seven more goals than his team’s next best scorer. If he gets back into the starting lineup, he could be a major factor. There’s not much value if he’s on the bench to start though.
