UPDATE: The PGA Tour announced tee times Tuesday afternoon. Tiger Woods will tee off on Thursday with Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka at 1:17 p.m. on Hole No. 1. On Friday, the trio will tee off at 8:17 a.m. on Hole No. 10.
Tiger Woods makes his much-awaited return to the PGA Tour on Thursday when he tees off at the Memorial Tournament. Golf Channel picks up televised coverage of the first two rounds from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET. PGA Tour Live will offer a live online stream starting at 7:15 a.m. both days.
Woods is making his first organized PGA Tour event appearance since playing at The Genesis Invitational in February. He finished 68th there and then withdrew from the Players Championship and then the previously scheduled Masters due to a back injury. He appeared fine at The Match II: Champions For Charity back in May, so fingers crossed his back is in good shape.
He joins a loaded field that will include Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and plenty of other talent in the biggest tournament since the Tour restarted play. Woods was playing some solid golf before he hurt his back, and the PGA Tour is clearly excited to have him back. The Tour announced its featured groups for Thursday and Friday, and we’ll see Woods paired with Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka as one such group. The other two groups will feature Bryson DeChambeau, Collin Morikawa, and Patrick Cantlay in one, and Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Dustin Johnson in the third group.
Thursday and Friday tee times will be announced on Tuesday, at which point you can start planning your days around Woods and the rest of what should be a fun field at the Memorial.
