Tale of the tape for Jack Shore vs. Aaron Phillips

An undefeated bantamweight takes on a last-minute replacement opponent making a return to UFC as Jack Shore takes on Aaron Phillips at UFC on ESPN 13 live from Fight Island tomorrow night in the United Arab Emirates.

The Welshman Shore is 12-0 in his career with 11 stoppages (four KO/TKO’s, seven submissions), and choked out Nohelin Hernandez in his UFC debut last September which he dominated statistically. He landed 46 blows while taking only six, and had all four takedowns in the bout. The former Cage Warriors champion is 25 years old, and was originally scheduled to fight Anderson dos Santos in this fight, but a positive Covid-19 test kept that from happening and the change was made July 5th.

Phillips is 12-3 with eight career stoppages, and has won five in a row as he heads to Abu Dhabi. The 30-year-old from Lafayette, Louisiana began his pro fighting career in April of 2011, and returns to the octagon for the first time after two unanimous decision losses in 2014. A nearly three-year break between 2015 and 2018 has done Phillips well, who hasn’t lost and has four stoppages since his pause.
