Tale of the tape for Diana Belbita vs. Liana Jojua

A pair of women’s flyweights looking to win their first UFC fight do battle when Diana Belbita faces Liana Jojua on Fight Island as part of UFC on ESPN 13 tomorrow night on ESPN+.

Belbita is 13-5 in MMA, but dropped her only fight in the UFC to Molly “Meatball” McCann by unanimous decision on October 18th of last year. In that fight she landed 6.53 strikes per minute, but also absorbed 7.53 with one successful takedown. The Romanian goes with the nickname “The Warrior Princess” and had been 5-0 in the Real Xtreme Fighting promotion before making the move to Dana White’s company.

Jouja is 7-3, and was knocked out in the third round of her UFC debut against Sarah Moras on September 7th of last year. The 25-year-old from Moscow is 7-3, with six stoppages and five of those by submission. She had won five consecutive fights before her loss to Moras, where she completed two takedowns and landed 19 blows, but absorbed 44 before being TKO’d by elbows.
