Best lineup strategy for Dynamo-LAFC Showdown

Diego Rossi’s ceiling should be raised by the absence of Carlos Vela for the duration of the MLS is Back Tournament.

Los Angeles Football Club had an explosive offense last season, but will be missing top goal scorer Carlos Vela in its MLS is Back Tournament debut against the Houston Dynamo on Monday. With Vela out, Diego Rossi ($16,200) becomes the top offensive threat in this match. He ranked second on the team in goals (17) and third in assists (9) last season and has a goal to his name in 2020. He should become more of a focal point and and see his shot totals rise at the very least. He tallied nine shots and put eight on target in two games with Vela, so he should have plenty of upside. Mauro Manotas ($12,900) is a lot cheaper and is one of the players most likely to get things going for Houston. He was top in goals (13) and second in assists (8) for the Dynamos last year.

Flex

Mark-Anthony Kaye ($5,200) is a play that could give you a ton of value. The young midfielder was one assist shy of Rossi last year and has the tallied his team’s only assist so far this year. While he might not play the full 90 minutes, he’s a variance play with decent upside. Memo Rodriquez ($7,200) is another midfielder to look out for. he’s cracked double-digits in DKFP in both the games he’s appeared in this year while tallying 15 crosses and five shots. He ranked third in goals (7) and goals last season.
