With the MLB regular season still a few weeks away, we don’t have to wait any longer for some professional baseball and - most importantly - baseball DFS. The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) is underway and DraftKings is welcoming the KBO into the fold with contests for big prizes. On Sunday morning, the action gets underway at 4:00 a.m. ET.

What do we know about the league? Who should we be putting into lineups? Let’s figure out all this together, position-by-position.

PITCHER

Stud

Chang Mo Koo, NCD at LG, $10,400 - If Koo is pitching, I am playing him. I don’t overthink it when he is on a slate since he’s been the most valuable KBO DFS asset by a mile. While most pitchers have been inconsistent and it’s been a position that players can blow up at any moment, Koo is averaging 27.4 DKFP and has scored over 22 DKFP in 10 of his 11 starts. He has a 1.48 ERA and has only allowed more than two runs once all season.

Value

Shi Hwan Jang, HAN vs. SK, $7,100 - For the season, Jang’s numbers are not pretty. He has a 5.07 ERA and only averages 11.4 DKFP. With all this said, Jang has a great matchup against the Wyverns tonight and he’s pitched much better as of late. Across his past three starts, he’s only given up three runs and he has 19 strikeouts to four walks over this stretch.

CATCHER

Stud

Se Hyuk Park, DOO at LOT, $4,200 - Catcher has been a wasteland for fantasy production lately. It’s been nearly impossible to get a big game out of a catcher over the past week. However, Park is one of the only players at the position who has performed well as of late. He’s riding a 10-game hitting streak and has only struck out twice over his past 13 games. Park has made a ton of contact lately.

Value

Yong Hwan Baek, KIA vs. KIW, $3,400 - Hopefully, Baek starts on Sunday. He hasn’t played all that often over recent weeks, but he has played well when he’s been in the starting lineup. On Saturday morning, he homered and scored 19 DKFP, which should be enough for him to stick in the starting lineup for Sunday. Baek has at least 5.0 DKFP in each of his past three starts.

FIRST BASE

Stud

ByungHo Park, KIW at KIA, $4,700 - Park is starting to get going at the plate. After a slow start to the season, his power is starting to pick up and he’s still about $1,000 cheaper than he was for most slates to open the season. After homering on Saturday, Park has gone yard five times in his past nine games, bringing his season total to 16 homers.

Value

Dae Ho Lee, LOT vs. DOO, $3,800 - One of the best hitters in the history of the KBO, Lee continues to produce results at 38 years old. He has a 128 wRC+ and his .385 OBP has led to strong fantasy outcomes. Lee has reached base in nearly 20 consecutive games and is averaging 8.6 DKFP.

SECOND BASE

Stud

Jose Fernandez, DOO at LOT, $6,200 - Fernandez is playing too well to be overlooked. He’s scored at least 8.0 DKFP in five consecutive games and is averaging 16 DKFP over this stretch. What’s also been nice has been his uptick in power. While Fernandez is usually more of a singles and doubles hitters, he’s homered three times in his past five games.

Value

Hoon Jung, DOO at LOT, $3,700 - Jung remains underpriced. This has been the case for the past month or so. Jung has reached base in 15 consecutive games, which has oddly led to his salary becoming cheaper. Jung now averages 9.1 DKFP, making him the third-best fantasy producer among all second basemen. Despite this, he’s the 12th-most expensive player at the position.

THIRD BASE

Stud

Kyoung Min Hur, DOO at LOT, $4,500 - Even though his price keeps creeping up, it isn’t enough. There’s an argument to be made the Hur should be the most expensive third baseman in KBO DFS. He is averaging 9.0 DKFP and is on a nine-game hitting streak. Due to the strength of the Bears’ offense, Hur constantly getting on base and racking up hits has led to a ton of chances for runs and RBIs.

Value

Chan Ho Park, KIA vs. KIW, $3,400 - The past few games have been great for Park. In his past three contests, he’s racked up five hits and averaged 16 DKFP. This makes Park one of the only cheap third basemen on the slate with a good chance for upside. He’s the only third baseman on Sunday’s slate priced under $3,500 that averages over 6.0 DKFP.

SHORTSTOP

Stud

Jeong Choi, SK at HAN, $5,300 - Typically, we have two expensive shortstops to consider, Choi and Ha Seong Kim ($5,800). Recently, Kim has struggled a bit, scoring single-digit DKFP in four of his past five games. This what is pushing me toward Choi for $500 less. He’s scored double-digit DKFP in five of his past seven starts.

Value

Jae Ho Kim, DOO at LOT, $3,600 - Activated earlier in the week from the injured list after dealing with a shoulder injury, Kim has played well since returning. He’s reached base in all five of his games this week and what has been most encouraging is his plate discipline. Kim has only one strikeout while walking three times since being activated. This is a good trend for his performance going forward.

OUTFIELD

Stud

Mel Rojas Jr., SAM at KTW, $6,300 - The best power hitter in the KBO, Rojas has seemingly been hot since Opening Day. Nobody is close to touching his total of 21 homers and he comes into Sunday having hit long balls in back-to-back games. It’s not like Rojas needs to hit homers for production either. He has four consecutive multi-hit games with six runs and five RBIs.

Value

Jeong Dae Bae, KTW vs. SAM, $3,400 - Bae is a hitter who desperately needs to have his price increased. One of the cheaper starting outfielders on the slate, he’s scored double-digit DKFP in seven of his past 10 games and it’s been nearly a month since he had a game where he didn’t reach base. Bae is now one of the top-10 active KBO outfielders for DK purposes.
