Update: Alex Caceres wins by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
A kid who would be too young to celebrate a win with a beer in Chase Hooper faces octagon veteran Alex Caceres in a featherweight bout at UFC 250. But should one of them be on your DFS roster at DraftKings?
DraftKings DFS Values
Chase Hooper: $8,500
Alex Caceres: $7,700
Hooper is one of the most exciting prospects in MMA at just 20 years of age, with a 9-0-1 record including seven stoppages (three TKO, four submission). He’s ended it in the first round five times, and did so in his UFC debut in December against Daniel Teymur.
Caceres is 15-12-1, but with only eight stoppages. “Bruce Leeroy” has been fighting in the UFC since 2011, which is when Hooper was in fifth or sixth grade. He’s also not the most active fighter, with just 3.84 significant strikes per minute, and 0.54 takedowns per 15 minutes.
Caceres is likely one of the worst purchases on the card because of his tendency to go the distance without much activity. While Hooper might be facing a veteran that can really test him, if he can keep the stoppage train rolling $8,500 his a steal for a fighter that can end it before the first bell. He would seem to be worth the price.
